Structure of this Portfolio
This portfolio is organized by the seven areas of competency in Instructional Technology described by the
Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT).
Further, the Instructional Systems Development
group at Virginia Tech
recognize three categories of work toward achievement of competency: Courses, Professional Experiences, and Professional Activities.
Accordingly, this portfolio is organized by the matrix of these combined sets of professional areas and categories of work.
